Last week we were blessed to have several men from Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (Marietta, GA) and Lake Hills Church (Austin, TX). This has become an annual event. These men, several of whom bring their sons with them, come down to the Gateway every fall and simply seek to serve and to listen to the Lord.
This year I was blessed to notice a wonderful change. Not that this trip was a “bad one” before…yet a change was noticed none the less. The men’s attitudes were far less self focused and far more God and others focused. There was a glow of joy and worship that was contagious. To see grown men set aside their “tasks” and simply sit and listen to their Heavenly Father was a huge blessing for me.
The men were able to minister to several families in Matamoros, MX through festivals, building new homes and meeting other felt needs.
